BRAINWASHED Emmerdale fans demand ‘freeloading’ character is axed as she turns on the family who help her
Daisy Campbell, 21, has played Amelia Spencer on the long-running ITV soap since 2011.
On Emmerdale, Belle left her husband after enduring months of secret abuse.
In an attempt to get over the breakdown of his marriage, he has embarked on a new relationship.
Before announcing her new relationship, the teen mum also broke up with her boyfriend Noah (Jack Downham).
This was after her baby daddy Samson Dingle (Sam Hall) was sent to prison.
Despite warnings about his behaviour from Belle, Amelia does not want to listen and she even stood up for her new boyfriend.
However, some fans have been left absolutely fuming as they took to social media in droves.
Taking to forum site Reddit, one soap enthusiast started up a new thread titled ‘I really do not like Amelia’.
They wrote: “Samson did not want anything to do with his daughter yet Amelia tried to force it on him and Noah treated Esther like his own and now Amelia is now going out with Tom.”
Other like-minded fans replied in droves as one stated: “I’m glad more people are on the hate Amelia train.”
Another agreed: “She sucks. The way she treated Samson was abhorrent, she randomly jumped into Toms side of the Belle thing and now is dating a man a decade older seemingly because she senses he’s abusive and is into it.”
“I think Amelia should’ve stayed with Noah. She does not realise what she’s about to do,” wrote a third.
As a fourth wrote: “Tell me about it 🙄!! Why the hell did she end up defending Tom while unaware he has abused Belle and poor Piper the dog??
Adding: “She is cloud cuckoo land. She will realise in future months!”
The conversation continued on other fan forums as another viewer wanted to discuss how various domestic abuse storylines have been ‘ruined’ by bosses on Emmerdale, Coronation Street and Eastenders.
They argued: “Tom and Belle was again a well-acted domestic violence storyline which has been ruined by the introduction of Amelia.”
TV fans couldn’t help but agree as a sixth user commented: “She is a crap character and they should get rid in my opinion.”
And a seventh asked: “Why are they dragging out the Belle and Tom storyline by having Amelia brainwashed?”
