Emmerdale’s Paddy Kirk star’s life with famous actress wife who starred on same ITV soap

Emmerdale’s Dominic Brunt has been a regular on the hit ITV soap for more than two decades and his wife Joanne Mitchell has also starred in same show

Dominic Brunt, who plays the beloved character Paddy Kirk on Emmerdale, has been a staple of the popular ITV soap for over two decades.

His character has had numerous love interests from Rhona Goskirk ans Chas Dingle, not forgetting his on-off relationship with Mandy Dingle.

However, off-screen, Dominic is happily married to Joanne Mitchell, a successful actress in her own right. The couple have been together since 2003 and Joanne has also made several appearances in various soap operas, including Emmerdale.

Despite her husband’s fame as a long-standing character on the show, Joanne has starred in several award-winning shows and has even appeared in Emmerdale multiple times. She has played four roles on the show to date, starting with Susan Davies, followed by a midwife named Yeo.

She then took on more challenging roles such as DS Karen Barnborough and most recently Sandra Flaherty, the mother and stepmother of Liv Flaherty and Aaron Livesey.

The talenet actress, a mother of two, boasts an impressive CV with roles in ITV’s Doctors, Coronation Street, and Waterloo Road, reports the Daily Star.

She’s also graced the sets of Bad Girls, Heartbeat, and the iconic ’90s crime series A Touch Of Frost.

Despite now being proud parents to two children, the couple has faced their share of adversity, particularly when their son Danny required critical surgery at just eight months old.

In an emotional interview on This Morning, the actor opened up about his son’s “major heart surgery” following a heart condition diagnosis.

Chatting with Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford, he offered reassurance, saying: “he’s absolutely fine now.” He confessed: “At the time it’s the most horrific thing to have to go through as a parent and obviously as a child, but he’s football-mad now, he’s completely fine.”

However, the devoted father didn’t let the ordeal defeat him, instead drawing from it for his portrayal in Emmerdale, especially during the 2018 storyline involving Chas, played by Lucy Pargeter.
